Is Live Captioning available in a session?

Live captioning is an accessibility feature of InSpace where you can assign an individual to provide live transcription.

This feature is available only to the host or co-hosts of the session.

To assign someone to start typing captions, you need to go to the attendee list, choose the user you want to assign and click on “Assign to type captions.”

The user will receive a notification that the host has assigned them to type captions. The user can start typing captions by clicking on “Start Typing.”

There is also another option that you as the host can use. In the Live Captioning view the assignee can click on the Stream Text button, and by providing the StreamText link the captioning will be written automatically.

*You will have to create a free Stream Text account to access this feature. Once you do, you can create an event on your StreamText dashboard, which will provide you a link. You can then use  that link during the InSpace session if you are assigned to do live captioning.
